WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita Police are investigating another hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist overnight.
It happened around 2 a.m. on Kellogg near the Woodlawn exit in east Wichita. Police say a motorcyclist died after they were struck by what witnesses described as a red pickup truck that then fled the scene. On Thursday, Christopher Johnson, 23, was formally charged in the August 18 hit-and-run death of Tad Doyle. He has a first appearance hearing scheduled tentatively for Oct. 24 on a charge of Failure to stop at accident; Reasonably known to result in death.
On the same day of Doyle’s death, a 20-year-old woman was seriously hurt when she was struck by a vehicle in south Wichita while riding a bike. That driver also fled the scene.
Less than a month later, on Sept. 12, another bicyclist was struck and killed by the driver of a pickup that fled the scene in south Wichita.
