One rookie quarterback who came into the NFL last season that had a lot of question marks around him was Anthony Richardson, out of the University of Florida, who was ultimately drafted by the Indianapolis Colts after Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers) and CJ Stroud (Houston Texans) were off the board.

Although there was no doubting his athleticism, as he’s arguably the best athlete at the position with his size since Cam Newton in his prime in the NFL, Richardson was questionable when it came to what he could do in the passing game, even though he’s got a big arm.

In Week 3, the Colts faced rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears in an intriguing game featuring two promising young quarterbacks.

Even though the team wasn’t pretty by any means, the Colts were able to come out on top, with star running back Jonathan Taylor leading the team to a win with two touchdowns on the ground to go along with 135 yards from scrimmage.

Despite getting the team’s first win of the season, it wasn’t a great look for Richardson, who threw some costly interceptions, including this one in the endzone via the NFL’s X account.

There’s no question that Richardson might be the new franchise quarterback for the Colts and what the team has been missing since Andrew Luck abruptly retired in 2019.

However, he is anything but a finished product and will need a lot of polish to reach his true potential in the NFL.
