BAKU – Measures against terrorism will be suspended if the units of the Armenian army lay down their arms and surrender, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced today.
“The Ministry of Defense once again calls on the formations of the armed forces of Armenia stationed on the Azerbaijani territory of Karabakh to lay down their arms and surrender,” the statement reads, as reported by the Azerbaijani state agency AZERTAC.
In that case, it is added, anti-terrorist measures will be suspended, reports Tanjug.
“We are in operational contact with the Russian peacekeeping contingent that is temporarily deployed in Azerbaijan and we are creating all the necessary conditions for them to perform their duties,” the Ministry announced.
