Ballet Wichita Nutcracker returns for 50th year

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Mark your calendars for the 50th year of Ballet Wichita’s Nutcracker.

Ballet Wichita and the Ballet Wichita Symphony will perform the Tchaikovsky classic The Nutcracker on Dec. 13 through 15 at Century II. The ballet is based on a short story by E. T. A. Hoffmann. It tells the story of a girl named Clara who receives a nutcracker doll from her uncle for Christmas and is transported on a magical adventure on Christmas Eve.

Tickets are on sale now. Performances will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m.
