Ja’Marr Chase’s recent on-field outburst might cost him more than just yards.

The Bengals’ star receiver found himself in hot water during their nail-biting 26-25 loss to the Chiefs, drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that’s now under league scrutiny.

Even Joe Burrow’s attempts to cool things down couldn’t stop Chase from earning the flag.

NFL Insider Tom Pelissero revealed that Chase could be looking at a fine from the league.

It’s been a rough start for Chase, as Pelissero highlighted, who’s managed just 10 catches for 97 yards and no touchdowns since ending his hold-in for the winless Bengals.

The penalty came at a crucial moment, tacking on 15 yards after a reception and tackle, effectively killing the Bengals’ offensive momentum.

Chase finished the game with a modest four catches for 35 yards but did not speak up about the incident post-game.

While no fine has been levied yet, the NFL typically reviews such incidents midweek.

Given that Chase’s comments were deemed abusive, there’s a real possibility he’ll be reaching for his wallet soon.

More so, as the league deliberates, many are left wondering: Will this be a wake-up call for the young star, or just another bump in an already rocky road?
