Strong winds are expected from the south overnight to Sunday, which could cause the fire to flare up again, says Stian Frislie, head of the Grenland Fire and Rescue Service.
On Saturday evening, the Grenland fire and rescue operations manager reports that the smoke is moving in the direction of Stathelle and towards the area of ​​Eik.

The fire started in rubber tires at the Ragn Sells recycling station on Tuesday. During the night, fire crews managed to get a good overview of the fire, but only got the fire under control on Thursday. On Friday, the emergency services announced that the extinguishing will continue through the weekend.
The emergency services have stated that there is an enormous amount of energy in the fire in the rubber tires. On Saturday, flames and smoke were still visible at the scene of the fire.
Thick black smoke billowed from the site on Tuesday when the violent fire broke out. Loud bangs could be heard as what was probably a truck tire exploded.
The extinguishing work has been described as demanding and exhausting.
No one was injured in the fire.
