Carmelo Anthony remains an icon at Syracuse and his name is quite literally attached to the school.

But that doesn’t mean he is forcing his son Kiyan to attend the school as he gets closer to being an NBA player.

In fact, he has quite a few options lined up.

Kiyan admitted that he does love the school and visits often to work out, but he has other choices that he is looking at for college.

According to ESPN, Kiyan will choose from a list of six finalists: Syracuse, Auburn, USC, Florida State, Ohio State, and Rutgers.

Kiyan will allegedly make his final choice sometime within the next two months.

The young star said he isn’t feeling any pressure from his dad.

“[My father] never pushed me to go to Syracuse just because his name is on the gym,” Kiyan said.

He added, “He knows that I’m my own person. I’ve just got to make my own decision at the end of the day.”

He is gaining a lot of interest from many schools and has dozens of offers but Kiyan is narrowing down his choices and will ultimately go with the school that feels right to him.

The six-foot-five, 185-pound guard is high on multiple lists as one of the best players for the class of 2025.

Many people agree that he can carve out a place for himself in the NBA if he continues to play as he has been.

The college he chooses is a big part of the draft process and it sounds like Kiyan is exploring all possibilities and not just the obvious one given his dad’s history.
