Trump wins in Kentucky, Indiana and South Carolina
Donald Trump wins the election in Kentucky, Indiana and South Carolina as expected, the Associated Press reports.
That gives Trump eleven electoral votes from Indiana, nine from South Carolina and eight from Kentucky.
All three are solidly Republican states that Trump won the last two times as well.

AP: Harris wins Vermont
The Democrats and Kamala Harris win the state of Vermont, reports the AP news agency.
It ensures Harris three electoral delegates, her first in this year’s presidential election.
Vermont is traditionally a Democratic state, so the result was not unexpected. Biden also won Vermont in the last presidential election in 2016.
To win, a candidate must receive at least 270 of the total of 538 electoral delegates.
Bernie Sanders re-elected to the Senate
Bernie Sanders has been elected for a new term in the Senate where he represents Vermont.
The independent politician who has become a guiding star for many on the liberal left in the US has said that this year’s election is in many ways the most important of our lifetime.
With Tuesday’s election victory, he can embark on his fourth six-year term. At the turn of the year, he has been in the Senate for 18 years. Before that, he spent 16 years in the House of Representatives.
Outside the United States, many people became seriously aware of Sanders when he tried to become the Democrats’ presidential candidate in 2016 and 2020.
After President Joe Biden withdrew from this year’s election campaign, Sanders threw his support behind Kamala Harris.

Republican Thomas Massie re-elected to Congress
Republican Thomas Massie has won re-election to Congress in the state of Kentucky for the seventh time. He ran unopposed.
Massie has been in Congress since 2012. From 2012 to 2017, he had a Norwegian chief of staff, Hans Høeg.
Massie is often described as a libertarian and is known for not being afraid to defy his own party.
