The Kansas City Chiefs are once again looking as inevitable as ever after squeaking out a pair of improbable wins to start 2-0 this season, though their most recent win over the Cincinnati Bengals left them with some holes to fill.

The team lost starting running back Isiah Pacheco to a broken leg in the contest and thus had to do some roster shuffling this week ahead of a Week 3 battle with the Atlanta Falcons.

Kansas City announced four roster moves on Wednesday, most notably placing Pacheco on IR while also signing Keaontay Ingram as his immediate replacement, signing linebacker Cole Christiansen to the active roster, and adding tight end Peyton Hendershot and former star running back Kareem Hunt to the practice squad.

The most eye-opening move on this list is the return of Kareem Hunt, who originally began his career with the Chiefs and was an immediate star before off-the-field issues ended his tenure prematurely.

Hunt posted 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie with the Chiefs in 2017 and ran for a career-high nine touchdowns with the Browns last season after Nick Chubb went down with a knee injury, so it’s possible his stay on the practice squad will be short-lived before being promoted to the active roster.

Ingram has spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and has 134 career rushing yards on 62 carries.

Pacheco is expected to be out at least 6-8 weeks, so there is plenty of opportunity for one of these running backs to establish themselves in this backfield.
