Although the Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 to begin the 2024 NFL season, the team hasn’t quite looked like itself on the offensive side of the football.

While the Chiefs are happy to have edged out the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, the team hasn’t quite been able to put up the amount of points fans are used to.

The injury to Isiah Pacheco dampened the offense as he was the heart and soul of the ground game, so Kansas City will need to rely more on Patrick Mahomes’ arm to move the chains.

However, Mahomes hasn’t resembled the all-world quarterback he’s become known as and part of the problem is the offensive line.

The Chiefs are working in some new members, particularly rookie left tackle Kingsley Suamataia who the team selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Suamataia has struggled to adapt to the professional level so far, and it appears head coach Andy Reid and the rest of the coaching staff are making a change along the offensive line for their Week 3 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

“The #Chiefs will have a new starting left tackle tonight against the #Falcons, with Wanya Morris now protecting Patrick Mahomes blindside,” Rapoport reported.

This move was foreshadowed last week against Cincinnati when Reid benched Suamataia who struggled in pass protection.

Protecting Mahomes’ blindside is of the utmost importance, especially this early on in the regular season.

Now, it will be interesting to see how this new-look Kansas City offensive line holds up on Monday Night Football.
