There’s a lot that goes into owning a sports franchise.

Most fans believe they have a decent grasp of what owners do, but chances are, they only know a small fraction of what their role entails.

With this mentality, it’s easy for them to judge team owners, talking trash about which teams are the worst in a given sport.

Generally, there are one or two teams in a league that are perpetually bad, and no matter what the owners do, they can’t seem to get out of their rut.

With that in mind, Chris Russo recently put together his top-five worst sports franchises, which he outlined in a segment of First Take on ESPN.

In order, he listed the Florida (Miami) Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Carolina Panthers, Washington Wizards, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

While most of these teams have had success at one moment in time, their respective franchises are not in a good spot at the moment.

The Marlins and White Sox are two of the worst teams in the MLB, and there doesn’t seem to be much hope for them moving forward.

The Panthers might be a relatively new team, but with the recent news of Bryce Young’s benching, this team isn’t where they want to be, either.

Jacksonville has some potential with Trevor Lawrence under center, but he hasn’t proven to be the prince that was promised.

The Wizards have also dug themselves a deep hole, one that might not be able to filled for many years.
