Geilo runner Sjåstad Christiansen thus showed that his form is intact ahead of a new season, where the WC in Lenzerheide in February is the big highlight.
– Very impressive, said NRK’s biathlon expert Ola Lunde.
– I got good answers today. I am particularly happy with what I do on the shooting range. I manage to keep calm, said the protagonist himself to NRK.
– Heavy
Pre-favourite Johannes Thingnes Bø led the race after the prone shooting, but the Norwegian biathlon king messed things up violently with two misses in the second shooting. As a result, the season opening did not turn out quite as the 31-year-old from Stryn had envisioned.
– It was heavy and tough conditions. It was a body that was not quite ready for skiing. It was simply bone-chilling and a tough day at work. It was difficult to drive, and easier to become rigid. Then, unfortunately, I’m not trained enough to stand three laps, he told NRK after the race.
– I can’t quite walk in the basement, so it was weak. It was not a good day. That’s the level I have. I must admit that I have a bit to think about, continued Thingnes Bø.

Postponements
Sturla Holm Lægreid also scored ten hits on Saturday, but the 27-year-old struggled with speed in the lane. As a result, there was no place on the podium. Second place went to Vebjørn Sørum, while Martin Uldal was third. Sørum had a wild final round, but it just wasn’t enough to win.
Tarjei Bø went into the goal after a minute behind Sjåstad Christiansen after two misses on standing shooting.
Saturday’s race on Lake Sjusjøen had to be postponed due to high winds in the morning. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold lived up to the stamp of victory when she won the women’s sprint.
