The Dallas Cowboys are struggling, and the angst that seemed to be surrounding the organization before the season started has seemingly gotten thicker lately.

Though wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott finally got their big contract extensions, the rest of the roster has some real holes, and therefore, there may not be such a thing as a sure win for them.

They will visit the New York Giants to open NFL Week 4, and cornerback Caelen Carson and safety Markquese Bell are listed as doubtful for “Thursday Night Football” after not practicing this week, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Carson has started Dallas’ three games this season with DaRon Bland out due to a foot injury, and the rookie has two passes defended and 15 total tackles (14 solo).

Bell has played just nine defensive snaps and has been used mostly on special teams.

Defense is the Cowboys’ biggest weakness right now. The Cowboys rank 30th in points allowed and last in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and yards per rush attempt given up.

In a 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, Dallas allowed a whopping 274 rushing yards and let Derrick Henry run for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

Dallas only mustered 51 rushing yards of its own and is 30th in rushing yards and 29th in yards per rush attempt on offense.

Though they brought back Ezekiel Elliott, their workhorse running back in past years, he’s clearly past his prime, and he has just 62 yards in 19 attempts in the three games.
