The Chicago Bears were in it against the Houston Texans last Sunday night.

They held C.J. Stroud and the Texans offense to under 20 points and had a chance at the end to try and win the game.

However, Caleb Williams and the offense struggled to put points on the board, which is the main reason why they ended up losing 19-13.

Star wide receiver D.J. Moore was very honest with the Chicago media this week when talking about how close his team was to winning.

“We were one play away from the game changing. And we just couldn’t connect,” Moore said (via ESPN’s Courtney Cronin).

For the second consecutive week, the Bears struggled to put together a good offensive performance.

Caleb Williams threw for 174 yards and two interceptions while the run game was only able to produce 71 total yards.

Williams himself was sacked a whopping seven times.

The offense also went 6 of 17 on third down conversions and no Bears wide receiver had more than 53 yards receiving (Moore led the team in both receptions and yards; six receptions for 53 yards).

Unfortunately for Chicago, they were not going up against a turnover-prone Will Levis for the second consecutive week.

They were facing an elite quarterback in Stroud with quality skill players.

Again, the Bears’ defense did a better job than most might.

They held Houston to 4 of 14 on third downs, only gave up 75 yards rushing, and forced the Texans to kick field goals instead of touchdowns.

But in the end, the Chicago offense just couldn’t make that one play to put themselves in a winning position.
