In 2023, the Baltimore Ravens went 13-4 and advanced to the AFC Championship game before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With an eye on making another Super Bowl run in 2024, the Ravens beefed up their roster in the offseason.

During free agency, the team signed former Tennessee running back Derrick Henry to take some of the load off quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The 2024 NFL Draft also brought the franchise a solid group of players including first-round corner Nate Wiggins from Clemson.

So far, those additions have brought the team exactly zero wins.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs narrowly beat the Ravens in Week 1, an outcome that was somewhat expected.

However, after taking a 23-13 lead early in the 4th quarter, the Las Vegas Raiders came back and scored 13 straight points to upset Baltimore 26-23 in Week 2.

Now, according to ESPN talking head and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky, the Ravens absolutely cannot start the season 0-3.

In an interview on Friday with the Rich Eisen Show, the host asked Orlovsky what was at stake for the Ravens against the Dallas Cowboys this week.

“Must win for Baltimore,” said Orlovsky. “You’re not getting to the playoffs unless you win this football game.”

Orlovsky’s take may sound dramatic, but it’s completely possible.

“Obviously, statistically, we know that [making the playoffs] is unlikely and the reality of the division that they’re in, they’re going to get more losses because of it.”

Should the Ravens get past the Cowboys, they will then meet the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, a team that is currently 2-0.

Then, as Orlovsky alluded to, Baltimore will begin its schedule against fellow AFC North rivals starting in Week 5 against Cincinnati.

Losing against Dallas is not an option if Baltimore hopes to salvage its season.
