Tandrevold was best in the sprint on Saturday and followed up on Sunday. Tandrevold quickly followed suit and security was even on its toes as two full houses were filled. It got worse when standing. There was a barrier in fresh wind conditions on the first standing and then two barriers on the second standing.
– You are today’s woman, said NRK’s interviewer Ida Nysæter Rasch.
– I feel that I share today’s role as a woman with Maren today. I know she can beat me in a sprint and I just had to soften her up the best I could. I was hoping that she would try her hand at inner’n. There was a lot of will and effort in that sprint, Tandrevold told NRK.
Maren Hjelmeset Kirkeeide was hit with the tip of a toe. Video images showed that Tandrevold was the first to cross the finish line. Kirkeeide shot three full houses before there was a classic miss on the very last shot on the last stand.
Hjelmeset Kirkeeide was only number 37 during Saturday’s sprint, but secured enough place for the World Cup start with 2nd place in the joint start.
– I am very impressed that Maren kept pace with Ingrid, because Ingrid went fast today, said NRK’s expert Marte Olsbu Røiseland.
The two best were in their own division during the joint start.
3rd place went to Italy’s Dorothea Wierer, and Karoline Knotten was fourth. Wierer had to endure two penalty rounds and was 31.5 seconds behind the finish line. Knotten shot three misses and was 1.11.0 minutes behind Tandrevold at the finish line.
