Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers believes he is one of the best players in the NBA, but he knows he has to prove it to others.

Speaking on “7PM in Brooklyn”, Mitchell said he thinks he’s one of the top 10 or 15 players in the league right now.

But he also said he knows he hasn’t been to the conference finals, so many people don’t agree with his self-evaluation.

He knows he needs to go far in the playoffs if other people are going to agree with him and rank him higher among other players in the league.

Mitchell posted 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists for the Cavaliers last season and earned an All-Star appearance once again.

It was a great year for Mitchell, but the Cavaliers still fell short of their goals.

They were pushed out of the playoffs in the second round by the Boston Celtics, but that was partly because Mitchell was out due to another injury.

During the summer, he re-committed to the Cavaliers and showed he is ready to fight hard again in 2024-25.

Will this be the year the Cavaliers finally make good on their promise to fans and go all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals or beyond?

Mitchell knows how talented he is but he accepts being talented isn’t good enough.

Instead, he has to deliver more victories to the fans.

This is a league that values accolades and wins more than anything else.
