The two sides discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, focusing on developments in the Middle East, most notably the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the efforts being made towards a ceasefire in the Strip, which would allow the flow of sufficient humanitarian aid without obstacles and contain the escalation in the region that threatens its security and stability.

In this context, Bin Zayed praised President Joe Biden’s initiative and the joint mediation efforts undertaken by the United States, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of prisoners and detainees from both the Palestinian and Israeli sides, stressing the importance of continuing these efforts as a first step on the road to resuming the political process to achieve comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the “two-state solution”, which guarantees security and stability for all peoples of the region.

At the end of their meeting, the two leaders stressed the two countries’ keenness to exert more efforts to contain the crises witnessed by the region, limit the deterioration of the humanitarian situation there, and support the foundations of its security and stability.

The two sides reviewed the prospects of cooperation and the importance of expanding its fields, especially the economic, commercial, investment, technology, artificial intelligence, space sciences, in addition to renewable energy, combating climate change, food security, sustainability solutions, and other aspects that serve the vision of the two countries towards achieving a more advanced and prosperous future for all, within the framework of the historical relations that extend to more than fifty years and the diverse and extended partnership that brings the two countries together.
