Egyptian-Lebanese statement condemns Israeli raids on southern Lebanon

During a meeting on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the two ministers condemned the aggression on Lebanese territory and called for respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon. Lebanon.

The two ministers agreed on the necessity of “stopping the ongoing Israeli aggression and for the influential countries to play their role in this regard, and to prevent the expansion of the confrontations and their transformation into a large-scale regional conflict,” according to a joint statement.

The two ministers stressed “the importance of the international community and the United Nations moving to implement the resolutions of both the General Assembly and the Security Council and issuing a binding resolution for Israel from the Security Council to stop its aggression on both the Palestinian and Lebanese territories immediately.”

The two ministers stressed the “necessity of compliance Israel To its obligations under international law, international humanitarian law and relevant agreements, especially the Four Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, in a manner that provides civilians with the protection guaranteed by international conventions from the consequences of the aggression launched by Israel.

The two ministers stressed that there is no way to resolve the current crisis in the Middle East except by achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
