Hello and congratulations on the new podcast. This time in conversations with celebrity siblings. Are there experiences of your own that make you want to step out of the shadow of your sister Else?
– Thank you! Yes, a bit like that – or perhaps rather to find out where that “shadow” actually begins and ends. When you are related to someone you know, it feels natural to be put in relation to him or her. But the point of the podcast is to pay tribute to the siblings, now it’s their turn to shine!
– For many of us, siblings are the people we have the longest history with, and there is a lot of comedy and warmth in those relationships.
Why do celebrity siblings deserve more attention?
– Ever since I met Bjørn Eidsvåg’s sister ten years ago, I have been fascinated by the celebrity sibling. It’s like they have an echo of the other in them, and there’s so much fun here. Plus I always think underdogs deserve more attention. “Revenge of the nerds”, you might say.
– As siblings, you can get a slightly unusual view of the life of another who is in the public eye, and that creates some special challenges. With celebrity siblings, one gets to see one’s own reflection thrown a little extra into the fray, for better or for worse. It makes for some really touching and funny stories.
So good, but what has surprised you the most in meeting the celebrity siblings?
– How incredibly different they are. It is a group of really charming and funny people, whom it is very easy to fall in love with. It is also fascinating to hear about both the joys and challenges they have experienced together, and how this has either strengthened or weakened the bond between them.

The word sibling love is often used ironically. What misunderstandings and jealousy often developed between the little girls in the pack, Else and you?
– Else and I are close to each other, and on the jealousy front it has been very calm. The closest we’ve come to severe jealousy is when she got a hot water bottle and I got an iPad for Christmas, then it was a bit of a bad mood. We wish each other the best, but it is clear that we have argued and thrown things at each other growing up. Like most siblings, in other words.
With a father who is a GP, how does someone with professional studies in medicine handle childish friction in the sibling group?
– There is no recipe for it, so to speak! Having a doctor dad probably taught us more about the importance of keeping a cool head when things boil, and he gave us a safe framework. But in the sibling group? No, everyone has to find out their own “diagnoses” and ways of dealing with disagreements.
Else is a stand-up comedian, talk show host, is involved in various comedy productions and filled Oslo Spektrum for her own wedding. How are you going to reach the top in this “sibling competition”?
– Else has set the list high, yes! But it doesn’t actually feel like a competition. We are incredibly different, and I have a rather low need for exposure, but perhaps my strength lies elsewhere. The competition gets to live its own life – the most important thing is that we both have a good time and work with things we love.
It seems a bit small to wish you a speedy recovery, but now your podcast with the same name is coming in version 2.0. After the series “Søstra til”, it might be good to make a podcast with a psychologist in the studio?
– Fortunately, I have not needed psychological help after making “Søstera til”, but it is actually incredibly rewarding to hang out with a doctor and psychologist every week. “Good recovery 2.0” is a space where we can go a little deeper and talk about what we usually keep to ourselves, and not least try to help those who listen.
On to our regular questions, what makes you happy?
– Boring answer, but spending time with people I love. And pizza.
Is there anything you regret?
– I try not to spend too much time on regrets, but I have some incredibly ugly tattoos from my teenage years that I would like to be without.
What superpower do you wish you had?
– Teleporters, of course!
What are you willing to go on a demonstration train for?
– Right now there are a lot of things to go on a demonstration train for, if the cause is good, I’ll join.
Which three personalities would you invite to dinner?
– Oprah Winfrey, Bjørn Floberg and Ingar Helge Gimle. I have no idea how the chemistry between them would have been, here I have chosen selfishly according to who I want to hang out with.
Who would you have been stuck in the elevator with? (except for Else then)
– If I had to choose, a really good lift fitter so we could get out of there fast as hell.
