– Every sixth offer on Black Friday was a “trick offer” – Dagsavisen

The discount level was also a record low, writes Prisjakt.no, which is owned by Schibsted, in a press release.

– Many stores’ Wild West pricing was unfortunately at such a level that I expect the Norwegian Consumer Protection Authority and responsible politicians to now take action on behalf of all us consumers, says Norwegian CEO Christoffer Reina in Prisjakt in the press release.

What Prisjakt.no characterizes as “trick prices” are goods that increased in price 30 days before Black Friday – and then get a lower price and are presented as offers.

According to Reina, a full 15.9 percent of Friday’s offer was a sales promotion that potentially violates the law on price marketing.

– Then we are talking about 445,000 products in Norwegian online stores that were actually a bad purchase on Black Friday. Unfortunately, here we are far ahead of Sweden and Finland, which have the same legislation, but where the trade association clearly has a more responsive approach to marketing in order to take care of customers, says Reina.

At the positive end of the scale, Prisjakt.no reports that almost 470,000 products were listed at the lowest price of the year during Black Friday.
