Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the power couples of Bollywood. The couple welcomed their daughter Raha in 2022 after having a fairy tale wedding earlier that year. Their love story seems straight out of a Bollywood film, with Alia having a childhood crush on Ranbir.Â
During an exclusive interview with Filmfare in 2018, Alia was asked about her then-rumoured relationship with Ranbir. The actress spoke about the similarities between Ranbir and her and revealed that both have a fixation for number 8. On being asked whether there are any similarities between them, she said, “Yes and no. Some weird and random things are similar between us. Like he has a fixation for number 8. And so do I. We discovered that when we started prepping for the film (Brahmastra). I mentioned my email ID and he asked why it had 08’. I said I just like the number 8. He said so do I. But he’s his own person. He’s a Libran and I’m a Piscean, two distinct star signs. I’m sure there are differences. But on set, we’re similar.”
She then elaborated, “During Highway, Imtiaz (Ali) called me “soldier”, which became a nickname. I asked him what he meant. He said he used to call Ranbir “soldier” during Rockstar as well. Basically, it means you’re like a soldier with the crew, you’re like a trooper. Ranbir’s a true soldier and so am I.”
