Halloween is just around the corner and Southern California’s weather is beginning to get into the spirit.
A low-pressure system is sweeping over the region early this week and even brought some welcome showers to Santa Clarita Monday morning.
“Se, we had some rain, and we’re looking at light rain through parts of Southern California,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said Monday morning. “Not for everyone … Overall, what we’re talking about today will be cooler temperatures. We’re getting very fall-like.”
Temperatures should remain below average all week with the most drastic cooling expected by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The arrival of the more fall-like weather should be “beautiful for Halloween on Thursday,” Henry said.
Gusty northeast winds are also expected to arrive with the cooler temperatures Monday and Tuesday.
Wind advisories have been issued for several parts of Southern California including the Los Angeles County beaches, Ventura County valleys, the San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, Apple and Lucern Valley and San Bernardino County mountains.
Wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph along the coast and 55 mph in the mountains and valleys.
Another storm or two are forecast to move into Southern California this weekend, bringing a chance of rain Saturday and Sunday.
