– Due to major errors on two train sets, in the next few weeks we will have too few regional trains to cover all the departures on the Sørlandsbanen, writes Go-Ahead on its website Monday.
According to the company that operates the train route from Stavanger to Oslo, during the Advent period, regional trains will be replaced by local trains ten times on weekdays and eight times on weekends between Stavanger and Kristiansand. The stretch Kristiansand-Oslo is mostly run by regional train, while there will be some buses for trains.
– There may be some delays at Kristiansand station, as the passengers are transferred to regular regional trains for onward travel to Oslo, the company warns.
Local trains have fewer facilities than the regular regional trains. There is only one toilet available, and no cafe, toy car or other extras.
– We are doing what we can to resolve this situation as quickly as possible, and we deeply regret that this leads to a less pleasant journey for several of our passengers, writes Go-Ahead.
British Go-Ahead won the competition to run Sørlandsbanen and other tracks in 2018. The agreement expires in December 2027.
