WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita firefighter was hospitalized Saturday morning following a fire on the city’s southeast side. The fire broke out at a home in the 4000 block of E. Ross Parkway.
The Wichita Fire Department arrived and found flames coming from a bedroom window. Crews quickly got the fire under control.
No one was inside at the time of the fire. A firefighter who fell ill from stress and heat fighting the fire was taken to the hospital.
The fire department says the home was deemed a total loss.
