There she will end Øya on the main stage in Tøyenparken in Oslo.
– Øya has followed Girl in Red since she played as a demo artist in 2018. We are very proud that in 2025 we can present her as a worthy finisher on our biggest stage on Saturday 9 August, the festival writes in the press release.
For the past nine years, Øya has chosen Norwegian bands and artists as closing artists. It is based on a desire to lift Norwegian artists to the next level in their careers and find “headliners and superstars of the future”.
They have done this at a time when the concert and festival industry often chooses to repeat itself to a large extent, claims the Oslo Festival.
The tenth name in a row will be Girl in Red, who is one of the Norwegian artists with the most international attention in recent years. In 2024, Girl in Red has played its way through North America, Australia, Asia and Europe.
