Kjetil Tunold, who is section leader at the section for organized crime in Kripos, says NRK that he cannot go into individual cases, but says that it is about orders to kill.
– We have seen an increase in both frequency and severity, he says.
According to Kripos, the acts of violence are often ordered by older, established masterminds who are located abroad. The execution is often done by young people, often people under the age of 18 and from abroad, such as Sweden.
The threat is present throughout the country, and there are two areas in particular that Kripos is worried about:
- Swedish criminals who try to establish their own drug business, possibly in collaboration with Norwegian criminal networks.
- Swedes who carry out violence on assignment in Norway, often on orders from Norwegian criminal networks.
– It will be a devastating, negative spiral in terms of crime in Norway, and bring us to a greater extent in the direction of what has been the development in Sweden in recent years, says Tunold to the channel.
