What do we know about Hezbollah’s Fadi missiles?
In response to the Israeli bombing that targeted several Lebanese areas and led to the deaths of many civilians, Hezbollah directed “Fadi 1” and “Fadi 2” missiles on Sunday at the Ramat David base and airport in Israel, in addition to the military industrial complexes of the Rafael company, which specializes in electronic means and equipment, located in the Zevulun area north of the city of Haifa.

Fadi’s missile 1, which is 220 mm in caliber, has a range of about 80 km, and is equivalent to the Khaibar “M220” missile.
The Fadi 2 missile is a tactical surface-to-surface missile, used for non-point area bombing, and entered service during the July 2006 war.
The explosive warhead of the Fadi 2 missile weighs about 170 kilograms, is 6 meters long, has a range of 100 kilometers, and is 303 millimeters in caliber, equivalent to the Khaybar “M302.”
Fadi missiles are classified as medium-range guided missiles, and are characterised by their accuracy and effectiveness against fortified sites and large concentrations of targeted forces.
The Fadi 2 missile first appeared on August 16, 2024, in a video clip published by Hezbollah showing a missile launch facility called “Imad 4,” which includes a missile launcher and military equipment. This facility was built in huge underground tunnels.
The first use was when Hezbollah launched a series of missile attacks on northern Israel and the Golan Heights in September 2024.
The secret behind the name
The Fadi missiles were named after Fadi Hassan al-Tawil, a Hezbollah operative who was killed in May 1987 in a Hezbollah confrontation with Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Lebanon.
