Hunter Dickinson named preseason AP All-American

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Kansas center Hunter Dickinson was named to the Associated Press All-America Team on Monday.

Dickinson, who is heading into his second season with the Jayhawks, was joined on the list by Alabama’s Mark Sears, Auburn’s Johni Broome, Duke’s Cooper Flagg, Arizona’s Caleb Love and North Carolina’s RJ Davis.

For the Jayhawks last season, Dickinson lived up to his preseason hype and averaged 17.9 points and 10.9 rebounds. His return to KU for the 2024-2025 season helped the Jayhawks earn the top spot on the AP Preseason Top 25 for the second straight season.

This will be Dickinson’s final season in college. He spent three seasons at Michigan before transferring to Kansas ahead of last season. After a loss to Gonzaga in the round of 32 in last year’s NCAA Tournament, he opted to return for one more ride with the Jayhawks.

That ride will officially begin against Howard University on Nov. 4, but fans can get their first glimpse of the Jayhawks in action this Friday, as Kansas will travel to Arkansas to play in a preseason charity exhibition on Oct. 25. That game will tip off at 8 p.m. and will air on the SEC Network.
