Figures from the Institute for Social Research (ISF) show that just over half of LO’s members voted for Labor at the time, writes Free trade movement.
In comparison, a full 76.3 per cent of LO members voted for Ap back in 1957. The figures from 2021 are still above the disastrous election in 2001. Ap’s support that year was 24.3 per cent, and among LO members it was as low as 34, 3 percent.
There are still far more LO members who vote for Ap than who vote for the Conservative Party and the Progressive Party. In 2021, just over 26 percent voted for these two parties.
– LO’s members are generally more similar to the population now than before. They are spreading beyond the political landscape, says election researcher Johannes Bergh.
