The Los Angeles Rams may have pulled off a stirring come-from-behind upset win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, but their season has still been a disappointment so far.

The Rams are 1-2, and they’re dealing with some key injuries, including the ones to Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, their two main weapons at wide receiver.

Both missed the win against the 49ers, but there was a somewhat encouraging update ahead of their Week 4 game against the Chicago Bears.

“Cooper Kupp is out of the cast and Puka Nacua has a compression sleeve on his right leg, but both are working with strength and conditioning/training staff to the side of today’s walkthrough,” wrote Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

Nacua was last year’s surprise rookie star for the Rams, and he helped turn what was supposed to be a miserable season into one when they won 10 games and nearly upset the Detroit Lions in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

He had 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns, which resulted in him finishing second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year balloting to Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Kupp was a Pro Bowler and a member of the All-Pro First Team in 2021 while leading the NFL with 1,947 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns as the Rams won the Super Bowl championship.

But since then, he has been dogged by injuries, appearing in just 21 games in 2022 and 2023 combined.

Los Angeles has other problems as well, starting with its defense, which ranks next-to-last in points allowed and last in total yards given up so far this season.

After visiting the Bears this weekend, they will return to SoFi Stadium to host the Green Bay Packers before their bye week.
