After an unsightly loss to the surprising New Orleans Saints in Week 2, the Dallas Cowboys are 1-1.

Dallas was picked by some media members to win the NFC East this year and return to the playoffs.

In Week 1, the Cowboys played up to expectations and crushed the Browns in Cleveland, 33-17.

However, they returned home to Texas and were humiliated by New Orleans 44-19.

During the Saints’ loss, newly-minted quarterback Dak Prescott passed for a respectable 293 yards but also had two interceptions.

The Cowboys’ running game was also toothless for the second week in a row.

In Week 1, running back Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 40 yards and had a paltry 16 yards against New Orleans.

Rico Dowdle was equally ineffective against the Saints with 30 yards.

The Cowboys are one-dimensional and could use more help in the backfield but try telling that to team owner Jerry Jones.

On Friday, Jones said in an interview with 105.3 The Fan Radio (via Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram) that he doesn’t see a problem with the Cowboys’ running back room.

“I don’t have anybody else in the world asking me about this but the media,” said Jones.

Jones’s take on the issue notwithstanding, Dallas does have a major problem at running back.

The lack of a bona fide starter leaves the offense one-dimensional and means defenses can load up to stop the pass.

Elliott originally left Dallas and spent 2023 in New England while Tony Pollard took his spot.

Last season, Pollard didn’t fulfill the organization’s lofty expectations despite rushing for over 1,000 yards and shipped him to the Tennessee Titans this past offseason.

Jones then brought Elliott back even though the former superstar is well past his prime.
