The Dallas Cowboys have lost back-to-back games after starting off the 2024 season 1-0.

Specifically in seven of the last eight quarters, Dallas has gotten dominated on both sides of the ball.

Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Jimmy Johnson recently had some thoughts on what the Cowboys need to do to flip the script in order to win the Super Bowl.

“The Cowboys win the Super Bowl if they play much better defense, they don’t turn the ball over on offense, and they’re outstanding on special teams,” Johnson recently said via NFL on Fox.

Speaking as somebody who won two Super Bowls for the Cowboys in the 1990s, Johnson knows what it takes to win at the highest level.

For starters, Dallas has given up 72 total points each of the last two weeks.

That is not good enough, especially if this team finds a way to make the playoffs because they would then be facing the best teams in the playoffs.

In the last two weeks, Mike McCarthy’s team has also turned the ball over three times.

That isn’t awful but losing the turnover battle is going to make winning that much tougher in the biggest moments.

Finally, special teams is always an x-factor because field position is always key.

On Thursday night, the Cowboys will travel to face the New York Giants in their first NFC East matchup of the season.

With how inconsistent the Giants have been over the last few seasons, this could be the perfect get-right game for Dallas.
