After last season’s unsuccessful loan spell at Chelsea, the Portuguese is this season on loan to Barcelona from Atlético Madrid.
In the Champions League opener, Barcelona’s attacking trio proved too difficult to stop for the Belgian Champions League debutant. Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha also played havoc with the visitors.
In the 11th minute came the first goal. Ilkay Gündogan and Lewandowski played on the wall, and João Felix could score at the near post.
Great preparation
Eight minutes later, the Portuguese provided great preparation for the 2-0 goal, and Lewandowski was able to wide-side his overhead kick into the goal at the far post.
Before half-time the first half was 3-0. Raphinha ravaged the left and sent the ball into the goal from an acute angle via an opponent. It was scored as an own goal by Jelle Bataille.
In the second half, Gavi made it 4-0 before João Felix scored again from a cross from Raphinha. Soon after, he was replaced by prodigy Lamine Yamal, to great applause.

Galeno show
In the same group, Porto also got off to a good start, with a 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in an away match played in Hamburg. Galeno was the big player with two goals and an assist.
Galeno scored an early lead goal on a goalkeeper return. The 19-year-old Kevin Kelsy equalized for the Ukrainian “home team”, but before the quarter had been played Galeno made it 2-1. He broke a terrible cross pass from Danilo Sikan and scored.
In the 29th minute, Galeno provided an assist when Mehdi Taremi punctuated the game.
