Kane hat-trick extended Bayern’s winning streak – broke Haaland’s record – Dagsavisen

Thus, the English goalscorer extended Bayern’s winning streak to six straight. The last time they did not emerge victorious was the 1-4 fiasco away to Barcelona in the Champions League on 23 October.

But it seemed for a long time that Bayern could go for a point loss. It took over an hour of play before an Augsburg player was caught inside the penalty area.

The referee didn’t catch the hand at first, but after a VAR check, Bayern got a correctly awarded penalty kick. That put Kane hard in the back of the net behind Nediljko Labrovic.

In extra time, Bayern were awarded another penalty after Keven Schlotterbeck fouled Kane inside the 16-yard box and was sent to the shower for his second yellow card. The Brit walked up to the chalk mark himself and scored his 25th straight penalty.

Kane wasn’t done there though, as just two minutes later he completed his hat-trick after being played in by Leon Goretzka.

It was goal machine Kane’s 50th goal in the Bundesliga, and he achieved that in just 43 games. The previous record was set by Erling Braut Haaland of Borussia Dortmund, who scored 50 goals in 50 games.

Bayern top the Bundesliga table and widened the gap to Antonio Nusa’s Leipzig, who are eight points behind in second place. Admittedly, they have played one less game.
