The New York Jets are still without one of their most important defensive players.

CJ Mosley, who didn’t suit up in Week 3, is still dealing with an injury.

Jets HC Robert Saleh confirmed that he won’t practice on Wednesday, adding that the team will be very cautious with his situation (Via Jets Videos).

The veteran linebacker sustained a toe injury in the win over the Tennessee Titans, and he was ruled out of their Thursday night divisional matchup with the New England Patriots shortly after.

Saleh had initially told reporters that the team was optimistic about having Mosley back on the field in Week 4 vs. the Denver Broncos.

Now, it seems like he’s trending in the opposite direction, as Saleh claimed that they want to make sure this doesn’t become a lingering issue for him.

He’s a defensive captain, so his absence out there definitely hurts the team.

In his absence, the Jets have turned to Jamien Sherwood to wear the green dot and handle defensive play-calling duties.

The Jets are also still without DE Haason Reddick, who continues to hold out and doesn’t seem likely to suit up at all this season.

This is far from ideal, but Saleh’s team is still 2-1 and looked significantly better in their last outing, albeit against a lesser opponent.
