The Sacramento Kings are plotting their future and trying to become one of the best teams in the league, but they’re still celebrating their past too.
According to Legion Hoops, the Kings are bringing back their “2002-2008” jerseys this season.
That means fans will be able to see a throwback jersey from a time when the team was just as young, competitive, and fierce.

The team announced these Classic Edition uniforms on Monday with a video that featured former players Mike Bibby and Doug Christie.
This choice is a way to celebrate 40 years of basketball in Sacramento and it’s also a reference to the team’s original road uniforms.
The jerseys are deep purple with a very sharp, memorable font that simply reads, “Sacramento”.
The team will first wear these throwbacks on November 23 in a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Sacramento is in an interesting spot right now.
They had a great 2022-23 season and were one of the top teams in the West, even though they couldn’t make it out of the first round of the playoffs.
Sadly, they regressed a bit last season and failed to reach the postseason, even though most people agree they have a lot of promise and potential.
Perhaps these throwback jerseys will give them a little extra energy and focus in 2024-25.
Fans will be elated to see these uniforms and will fondly remember an era when the Kings were repeatedly reaching the playoffs, even if they never won a championship.
