The Philadelphia Eagles held their regular season home opener on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, and the entire Delaware Valley region was hyped up to see their favorite birds take on another avian-themed team, the Atlanta Falcons.

While NBA star Jalen Brunson is looking to lead the New York Knicks to a world championship, his heart is still with the Delaware Valley area, and he was on hand at Lincoln Financial Field for Monday’s contest, per ClutchPoints.

Brunson spent a good amount of his childhood in South Jersey, and he played three seasons of college basketball at Villanova University near Philly.

There, he was teammates with Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo and Mikal Bridges, all of whom are also key members of the Knicks this season.

He is coming off a year in which he averaged 28.7 points and 6.7 assists a game, and he elevated the Knicks to the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

In the playoffs, he reached the 40-point mark a whopping five times as New York came to the brink of their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000.

The Eagles are coming off a solid Week 1 win over the upstart Green Bay Packers, and they’re looking to rebound after they came apart at the seams down the stretch of last season.

After starting 10-1, they lost five of their last six regular season games before getting trounced in the wild-card round of the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
