An arrest warrant has been issued for a Los Angeles man who now faces charges in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 16-year-old boy on a bicycle near BMO Stadium last week.
The deadly encounter happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 when, according to the California Highway Patrol, there was an altercation between a group of around 40 bicyclists and the driver of a blue BMW on Figueroa Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The confrontation moved into the parking lot at BMO Stadium, where the victim, 16-year-old Jonathan “Junior” Flores, was struck by the driver of a black Honda sedan.
Both drivers fled the scene, leaving Flores to die in the middle of MLK Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney has charged Rodriguez with murder, felony hit-and-run and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. No photo of Rodriguez was provided.
“The CHP continues to investigate and urges Jonathan Rodriguez to surrender to authorities,” CHP said.
