WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Maize USD 266 said Maize South Middle School was evacuated Tuesday morning following a threatening voicemail message left there.
The district said the evacuation was necessary as the school was being searched.
The district said the school is not being dismissed.
Here is the note sent to parents:
Maize South Middle School parents,
Please know your children are being supervised by employees, school remains in session, and it is not necessary for you to pick up your child. Please avoid Maize South Middle School at this time.
However, if you choose to pick up your child, please go to the athletic entrance at Maize South High School, 3701 N. Tyler Road in Wichita. Be prepared to show your identification. You must be listed in Skyward Family Access as the guardian or emergency contact for the child being picked up.
