A Riverside County man was arrested Wednesday after he was identified as the suspect in crimes against two underage girls and an adult woman in the Moreno Valley area.
Brian Vaughn, 36, of Jurupa Valley, was arrested Wednesday after law enforcement served a search warrant at his home on the 3900 block of Hawk Drive.
Authorities believe they’ve linked Vaughn to three separate known crimes, the first of which happened Halloween afternoon.
Just before 5 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies from the Moreno Valley station received a call about a man following a 17-year-old girl as she walked home from school. The victim told deputies that the man was photographing her and driving next to her as he offered to give her a ride.
Deputies took down the victim’s statement but were unable to find the suspect.
The following day, just after 4 p.m., deputies were dispatched for a report of a man approaching a 12-year-old girl and then soliciting her for sex. The victim told investigators that she knew the man, and it was determined he was the same person responsible for the incident from the previous evening.
Later that night, another victim, an adult woman, told investigators she was riding a scooter in Jurupa Valley when the same suspect offered her a ride. She refused and the man grabbed her arm and pulled her toward his vehicle before she was able to break free, officials said.
Through their investigation, they were able to identify Vaughn as the suspect in all three incidents.
On Wednesday, a search warrant was served at his home and Vaughn was taken into custody. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside to await charges for contacting a minor to commit a felony, annoying or molesting a minor, and kidnapping, among others
He’s currently being held on $1 million bail and made his first court appearance Friday.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional details were released, but investigators do believe there may be additional victims who have not been contacted.
