The Washington Commanders put on an offensive display on Monday Night Football.

Jayden Daniels proved to be something special, and while it’s still early in the season, this win might make the team reconsider it’s plans for the season.

On paper, this was supposed to be a developmental and culture-setting year in Washington.

But with Daniels looking like this and their 1-2 start to the season, they might want to go for all the marbles.

When asked whether they could win the NFC East Division, Marcus Spears actually gave them a shot.

Talking on ESPN’s First Take, Spears acknowledged that all bets were off when you have a special quarterback, and the Commanders clearly have one.

The Philadelphia Eagles are clearly the team to beat in the division, but they still need to figure plenty of things out, starting with coaching and decision-making, particularly late in games.

The Dallas Cowboys cannot stop the run and have a long and well-documented history of shortcomings vs. winning teams, so it’s hard to envision someone still considering them as legitimate contenders.

As for the New York Giants, their defense has been better this season, but there are still major doubts about Daniel Jones and whether he’s a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL.

It won’t be easy, and the defense will also need to step up.

But to think this Commanders team could actually end up on top of the NFC East at the end of the season isn’t as far-fetched now as it seemed before the start of the season.
