Surveillance video captured the moment a car rammed into a barber shop in West Covina earlier this week.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. Tuesday as the driver was trying to move a parked car in the 4100 block of South Nogales Street near Valley Boulevard.
Video showed the vehicle appeared to back up but then started forward after nearly hitting a passing pickup truck.
The driver then steered the four-door sedan directly into the Above Barber Shop, which was closed at the time.
It was unclear why the driver crashed but video showed the driver’s side door was open while the motorist was trying to operate the vehicle.
The crash caused extensive damage to the barbershop, which was yellow-tagged but has since reopened for business.
