– There is an urgent need for air defence. Not only new weapon systems, but also ammunition, maintenance and spare parts. We see that air defense saves lives every day in Ukraine, he says.
Stoltenberg is present in New York during the high-level week in the UN General Assembly. There, US President Joe Biden warned that Russia is betting that the world will tire of the war. Stoltenberg assures that they will support Ukraine as long as it is needed.
– We are prepared for the long distance. It’s not because we can’t predict exactly how long this war is going to last, but because we need to send a clear signal that President Putin is not going to outlast us.
