It’s nearly impossible to talk about NFL broadcasting without mentioning Cris Collinsworth’s name.
He might not be loved by every football fan, but his dedication to the craft is impressive, as he’s been doing it for a long time.
Collinsworth has been on the call for many key moments in NFL history, and his voice rings out on TVs across the world.
He was a receiver in the NFL before he entered the booth, so he knows a thing or two about the game, which helps him relay information clearly to fans.
Being that he’s 65, some fans wondered how much longer Collinsworth would stick around in the booth.
A recent headline from The Athletic indicates that NBC Sports is trying to ink a new deal with him, which could last until the end of the 2020s.
JUST IN: NBC Sports is working toward a deal that will keep Cris Collinsworth as its lead NFL game analyst through the end of the decade, sources tell @AndrewMarchand.
He will be in line to call two more Super Bowls.

The Athletic also reported that he would call two more Super Bowls during this time frame, should the full extension be agreed upon.
Collinsworth is a legend in the NFL for many reasons, and his reign will likely continue for the foreseeable future.
He is getting older, however, and it will be interesting to see who will replace him when he retires.
There are a few younger people who are getting into the broadcasting game, but nobody has necessarily emerged as a front-runner for this job.
Even Tom Brady, arguably the best quarterback in NFL history, has encountered a few hiccups in his first few appearances on broadcasts, showing just how hard this job can be.
