French and Dutch police have cooperated on the investigation of the company, which is suspected of, among other things, money laundering, tax fraud and the use of undeclared work, according to Le Monde.
On Tuesday, the police entered the company’s office in Amsterdam, which is the headquarters for Netflix both in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The office in Paris was also searched.
– French and Dutch authorities have been cooperating on this criminal case for several months, a legal source told AFP on Tuesday.
The police in France started the investigation in November 2022. When the case became public, the company stated that they comply with the tax regulations in all the countries where they operate. Netflix has not commented on Tuesday’s reports of the search.
Netflix is ​​also under investigation in France for its tax registrations for 2019, 2020 and 2021. The company is suspected of manipulating the numbers of subscribers to avoid taxes.
