The NBA career of Killian Hayes has been filled with many challenges, to put it gently.

Just months ago, it seemed like he may have lost his chance to play in the league but he’s about to fight hard to prove his worth again.

Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype is reporting the Brooklyn Nets are signing Hayes to an Exhibit 10 deal.

Hayes, the No. 7 pick in the 2020 draft, has spent his first four seasons in the league playing for the Detroit Pistons before getting waived in 2023-24.

During that time, Hayes averaged 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists.

His final season in Detroit saw Hayes dropping off across the board when it came to on-court output.

This bothered the team, leading to the Pistons cutting him and putting the future of his career in doubt.

There were plenty of NBA fans who predicted they’d never see Hayes again but he now has a fighting chance for a comeback.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed, which means Hayes will have to play incredibly hard, and incredibly well, to make a strong impression in Brooklyn.

He’s in a good position because the team is starting a rebuilding phase.

That means Hayes will have more chances to shine and make a name for himself with a squad that isn’t expected to make much noise this season.

If he isn’t able to create an impact, Hayes will once again be in basketball limbo without a team.

He is still healthy and just 23 years old, which means Hayes has a chance of turning things around, starting with this opportunity in Brooklyn.
