Berge stood up for licensee TV 2 after the match in Ljubljana. There, Norway ran rampant at times and won comfortably in the end.
– It was fun from start to finish. A bit troubled at times, but after the 2-1 score we were good. It’s a tough place to come, and Ståle (Solbakken) says they haven’t lost here since 2022. We’ve been here twice before and haven’t beaten them. What we deliver is powerful, and especially the way we get up after the last match, said Berge and added:
– If we deliver at that level here, then we will be scary.
Berge has delivered some of his best international matches this autumn, both against Slovenia. He moved this summer to Fulham, where he has become an important piece.
– I have a very good club life in Fulham, and I have not played in such a good club team before. I have been injury-free for a long time, and then there is continuity and taking more responsibility, then you grow into it, said Berge.
TV 2 expert “Drillo” was full of praise for the match.
– Sander Berge I have never seen better. The second half performance by Norway today is one of the funniest things I can remember. I just sat and enjoyed myself. It was so good. We did the best I have seen in the recovery phase, said the former national team manager.
On Sunday, Norway takes on Kazakhstan in the final round of this year’s Nations League. A win there, while Austria drops points against Slovenia, will make Norway an A nation for the first time.
