Fortnite fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of Fortnitemares 2024, but according to a new leak, the event will not feature Jason from Friday the 13th as a collaboration. Fortnitemares is one of the most anticipated yearly Fortnite events, which takes place around Halloween every year, and the collaboration with Friday the 13th was heavily speculated for the past few weeks.

Fortnite has been on a streak of big collaborations lately. The ongoing season features a major partnership with Disney, adding numerous Marvel characters to Fortnite. While fans are already having a great time in Fortnite with the superhero mythic weapons, there is a rather disappointing update about an upcoming collaboration.

In a new tweet on Twitter, popular Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR reveals a disappointing leak about the upcoming Fortnitemares event. They add that Jason, from the popular Friday the 13th franchise, will not be a part of the Fortnitemares 2024 collaborations. Several leakers had previously suggested that Jason would be featured in the game as part of the Halloween-themed Fortnite event, but it seems the plans have fallen through. However, as is the case with all leaks, this should also be taken with a grain of salt. There is still a possibility of Jason featuring in the game, but considering that the leaker is quite reliable, the chances look quite bleak at this point.

Fortnite Fans Are Not Happy With Fortnitemares Not Featuring Jason from Friday the 13th

Over on Twitter, fans are not at all happy with the leak, considering there was quite a lot of build-up that suggested a collab was on the way as part of Fortnite’s Fortnitemares 2024. Notably, the Twitter handle of Jason Universe had replied to fans asking for a collaboration with Fortnite using the two-eyes emoji, which led many to believe that it would be a part of Fortnitemares. One fan noted that the top left part of the map was fitting for Jason, and the collab possibly being canceled is a huge missed opportunity.

On the flip side, some fans are still happy that Fortnite’s Fortnitemares 2024 might feature a collaboration with Saw. In a recent update, players found an old TV in the Doom Castle attic displaying static. A subsequent datamine revealed that the TV will possibly switch to an image of Saw‘s Billy the Puppet, which almost confirmed the collab. Many think that the Friday the 13th collab being canceled could possibly pave the way for the arrival of Ghostface from the Scream franchise, but there are no leaks about that so far. Some Fortnite fans still think that Jason’s popularity makes him the best candidate for this event, so it remains to be seen whether the much-anticipated collab will materialize or not.
