NFC QB Has Notable Shift In MVP Odds

With two weeks of the NFL season in the history books, we can already state that the New Orleans Saints are perhaps the most pleasant surprise in the league.

Granted, beating the Carolina Panthers isn’t that impressive, but they followed that up with a huge statement win on the road vs. the Dallas Cowboys.

Derek Carr is currently playing the best football of his career, and it’s not even close.

He’s leading the league in passer rating (142.4) and has thrown for 443 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception, all while just missing nine passes through two games.

That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see his MVP odds getting a significant boost.

As pointed out by Caesars Sportsbook & Casino on X, his MVP odds went from +17500 in the preseason to +9000 after Week 1, and they’re now sitting at +3000.

Of course, it’s still too early to talk about winning MVP, as we still have 15 more games left in the regular season, and plenty of players are due for some regression.

Then again, it is a fact that Carr has been the best quarterback in the league thus far, and the Saints’ offense has been on an absolute tear under Klint Kubiak.

Alvin Kamara is turning back the clock and has been a bulldozer out of the backfield, all while Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed have made defenders miss left and right.

The Saints seem to be for real, and Carr might finally have the breakout season everybody hoped he’d have earlier in his career.
